𝟭. 𝗖𝗹𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗹𝘀 𝗴𝗮𝗽: 𝘀𝗲𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗿𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘂𝗽 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘀𝘂𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀, 𝗿𝗼𝗯𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗮 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲

To plan and make the case for education and skills provision that better reflects the needs of local businesses needs robust evidence and engagement.

Education and training providers need to make the case based on need, viability and financial sustainability.

The LSIP Trailblazer evaluation conducted by DfE found strong examples of high-quality employer engagement to inform high-value provision; and increased employer confidence in the responsiveness of the skills system.

𝟮. 𝗘𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲𝗿 𝘃𝗼𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗟𝗦𝗜𝗣 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀

Education and training providers are in a Unique Position. They are an essential foundation and change agent for the local skills system.

Education and Training Institutions are sitting on a goldmine of experience and local economic insight.

Local Skills Plans and partnerships are a chance to broadcast that expertise and influence the priorities, strategies and planning based on a real understanding of education and training funding and delivery.

𝟯. 𝗔𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮 𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗱𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗹𝗲𝗱, 𝗳𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝘁 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝘀𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗹𝘀 𝗱𝗲𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗱

Education and training providers need robust information on which to base future course provision.

LSIPs provide access to detailed, funded market research into local demand for education and training courses, and trends in employer skills needs.

LSIPs help to ensure that education and training align better with the real-world demands of local employers.

𝟰. 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗲𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗼𝘆𝗲𝗿𝘀

Education and training providers get the opportunity to engage with a broader range of employers.

LSIPs provide the opportunity to strengthen relationships with employers on multiple levels, in a way that will support their careers services and performance against Gatsby benchmarks.

𝟱. 𝗨𝗻𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗸𝘀 𝗳𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗳𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀

LSIPs can unlock access to LSIF funding which can be used to finance course development, the purchase of industry-standard equipment, upgrading facilities, staff training and development, and learner support.
